Cleaning your bronze tiles You can clean Bronzework Studio tiles with any common household cleaner - the same way you clean the surrounding stone or ceramic tile. No special cleaning agents are required. You should, however, avoid acid-based cleaners, such as commercial-strength stone cleaners. (Household cleaners typically do not contain acid.) If left on the tiles for a period of time, acids may temporarily alter the tiles’ patina. But Bronzework Studio bronze is extremely resilient. Even if the tiles have been dulled with acid, you can easily restore the original brightness.

Making your bronze tiles bright again To restore their original brightness, Bronzework Studio tiles may be polished quickly and easily with a soft abrasive pad such as Scotch Brite. If the tiles have darkened significantly, you can polish them with copper or brass cleaner. Lightly waxing the newly polished tiles with paste wax will help them retain their brightness. When used in wet locations or outdoors, the natural patina process is accelerated and ultimately an opaque, green patina will develop. However, even in a shower, regular cleaning with a soft abrasive pad, such as Scotch Brite, will keep the tiles bright indefinitely. |
